"Waste Canvas" or "Temporary Canvas". This is a special type of fabric used in embroidery as a stitching guide on fabrics that do not have a regular grid, such as T-shirts, bags, or plain pillowcases .
Product Features and Uses:
· Main Function: It is used as an auxiliary grid to stitch "X" (Cross-Stitch) neatly on tightly woven fabrics.
· How It Works: It consists of threads bonded together with water-soluble glue. After embroidery is complete, the work is sprayed with water to dissolve the glue, making it easy to pull out the canvas threads one by one, leaving only the embroidery on the original fabric.
· Difference from Regular Canvas: Regular canvas (Aida) remains part of the finished work, while Waste Canvas is "waste" that is disposed of after the task is completed.
· Counts: It is available in several counts, indicating the number of stitches per inch, such as 4, 8, or 12 stitches.
Brief Steps for Use:
1. Secure the canvas piece over the fabric to be embroidered.
2. Begin embroidering through the canvas holes, ensuring the needle penetrates the base fabric underneath.
3. Once finished, dampen the canvas with water to dissolve the starch/glue.
4. Use tweezers to pull out the longitudinal and transverse threads of the canvas until they are completely removed.
